How Are Weather Measurements Made?

Weather forecasts, carried out by the General Directorate of Meteorology, are prepared with different measurement tools. Weather, which is followed by many sectors such as aviation, agriculture, and maritime, is also followed by the end consumer. Weather, which deeply affects a person's daily life, can suddenly change the course of planned events during the day. In our country, weather forecasts are determined thanks to measurements made in a total of 1973 different areas. These forecasts are served to the press. This way, anyone who wishes can easily follow the weather. The notifications obtained are published on sites such as https://www.trthaber.com/ankara-hava-durumu.html. The stations, whose duty is to measure meteorological parameters, come to the forefront with the interpretation of many factors. These tools are shaped depending on factors such as precipitation, soil temperatures, sunshine, pressure, humidity, wind direction, and speed.

Short-Term Forecasts in Weather

Weather measurements are made through stations. There are 83 weather stations at sea. This number is 74 at airports. The number of weather stations at ground level has been determined as 1636. Weather forecasts, carried out within specific altitude values, can be measured thanks to altitudes ranging from 0 to 3500 meters. It is also possible to make short-term weather forecasts. These data are obtained through radars. The 20 radars in our country allow continuous monitoring of the atmosphere. Thus, 2-3 hour weather forecasts can be easily made. In cases where upper atmosphere observation is required, balloons are released. It is possible for balloons to rise up to 35 km in measurements made at different altitudes of the atmosphere. Measurements are taken by a device attached to the bottom of the balloon. In this way, accurate information is always provided to the masses interested in the weather.
