Is Snoring a Disease?

Snoring is not generally a disease, but it is seen as a symptom of illness by doctors. Snoring affects breathing during sleep, and shortness of breath caused by snoring during sleep can lead to danger. Although not a disease in itself, it can even cause death if breathing is not maintained continuously. The important thing in snoring treatment is to make the correct diagnosis. For example, a problem in the adenoids cannot be resolved with medication but requires surgical intervention. The individual may have a problem in their upper respiratory tract, and the treatment for this condition is possible with medication. Other than these, there is no definitive treatment for snoring problems. Generally, medication and surgical intervention are the most suitable. Some of the most important surgical treatments are laser surgery and uvulopalatopharyngoplasty surgery.
